Biomass: Got waste? Use it!
Biomass isn't really waste heat.
However, it is waste that can easily produce heat.
In all conventional electricity production processes, heat is used to boil a liquid to produce steam with the expansion turning a turbine to create electricity.
Biomass is just biological matter that can be burned at sufficiently hot temperatures to cleanly convert solid to gas which is then burnt to produce heat. This heat is used to boil water and the steam creates pressure which turns a turbine, generating electricity. What could be simpler?
If your industry has waste on an ongoing basis, you are wasting money if you are paying to have it hauled away and disposed of. Instead, why not use it to replace your electricity consumption, saving you money. If the supply of waste is sufficient, you can even sell the excess electricity to the grid, making you money. The technology is available to produce electricity in any amount.
